Eagle Women Place 12th At Cumberland Classic

Ashland University's women's golf team completed play at Ohio Dominican's Cumberland Trail Classic on Sunday (Sept. 22), ending in 12th place in the 16-team field.

The Eagles' two-day score of 332-318—650 was 48 shots behind first-place Tiffin (292-310—602). Ferris State finished as the runner-up (296-308—604), and Gannon took third (302-307—609).

Ashland's best individual placer at ODU was senior Megan Pollock, who tied for 19th place with a 79-76—155 showing. On Sunday, Pollock had birdies on holes No. 1 and 5, and was 1-over-par on the back nine.

Junior Sophie Hemleben tied for 29th place and also fired a 76 on Sunday, ending at 82-76—158. Senior Logan Pottorf continued the lower Sunday scores, carding 87-79—166 and finishing tied for 53rd.

Sophomore Sophia Lowe tied for 68th (84-87—171), while senior Claire Coughenour was 89th (97-94—191).

Malone's Christina Williams was the tournament medalist at 5-under-par 71-68—139.

Ashland's women return to action on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 28-29) at Ferris State's Bulldog Fall Invite.
