AU Women Tied For Sixth After Day 1 Of SVSU Invite

Ashland University's women's golf team opened the 2019 spring season with a score of 322, good for a tie for sixth place in the 23-team Saginaw Valley State Spring Invitational on Saturday (March 16) in Georgetown, Ky.

Pacing the Eagle effort on Saturday was sophomore Sophie Hemleben, who is tied for sixth individually with an opening-round 75. Senior Monica Torda is tied for 22nd with a 79.

Rounding out the AU team showing were sophomore Hannah Lemons (82), junior Logan Pottorf (86) and freshman Sophia Lowe (93).

Playing as an individual was freshman Cece Dillon (87).

Leading the team standings is Findlay at 304, followed by Northwood (305), Tiffin (308) and Wayne State (314).

The second and final day of the SVSU Spring Invite will be Sunday (March 17) at 9 a.m.
