#10 Ashland Falls In Top 25 Showdown With #23 Ferris State

The Ashland University men's basketball team dropped its second consecutive game on its road trip to Michigan, falling to No. 23 Ferris State, 94-70, on Saturday (Dec. 7) night at Jim Wink Arena.

The Eagles (6-2, 0-2 GLIAC), ranked No. 10 in the NABC Division II coaches' poll, fell behind early in the game on Saturday and were not able to get back into it after the Bulldogs took a 21-5 lead through the first six minutes. 

The Bulldogs were red-hot shooting, hitting 55 percent from the field, including a 17-for-31 mark (55 percent) from 3-point range.

The Eagles, meanwhile, were just 3-for-23 from long distance.

Senior center Drew Noble led the Eagles with 17 points. Senior Rodrick Caldwell had 14 points, six rebounds and three assists, while redshirt-junior wing Aaron Thompson also chipped in 14 points with eight rebounds. Freshman guard Brandon Haraway was the fourth Eagle in double figures with 10 points.

The Eagles had no answer for Ferris State's Walt Kelser, who finished with 29 points on 11-for-16 shooting and six 3-pointers.

The Eagles will have this week off for final exams before returning to Kates Gymnasium next Saturday (Dec. 14) at 7:30 p.m. against Wayne State.
