Ashland University men's basketball will make its return to the NCAA Division II postseason in a Midwest Regional quarterfinal on Saturday (March 14) at 2:30 p.m. at Walsh vs. Grand Valley State (25-6).
"It's always big to make the NCAAs," said Ashland head coach
John Ellenwood. "It was kind of sitting on pins and needles, waiting for results of games. Everything was out of our control. It is exciting to get in. It's a thrill."
This will be the 15th NCAA postseason for Ashland men's basketball (1968-71, 1976-78, 1988, 1990-91, 2016, 2019, 2021, 2023 and 2026), to go with six previous NAIA playoff appearances (1960-63, 1965 and 1967). The Eagles were named the 1968-69 national champions by both the Associated Press and United Press International.
