Eagle Women Play First Round Of Music City Invite

To begin its final fall tournament of 2018, Ashland University's women's golf team on Monday (Oct. 22) played the first 18 of 36 holes at the Music City Invitational in Nashville, Tenn.

The Eagles' team score of 336 was paced by sophomore Sophie Hemleben, who carded a 5-over-par 77 to end the first day in a tie for 16th individually. Senior Monica Torda is in a tie for 48th place with an 82, while sophomore Hannah Lemons is tied for 56th with an 83.

Freshman Sophia Lowe shot a 94 to tie for 97th, and junior Logan Pottorf had a 98 to tie for 103rd.

As a team, the Eagles are 15th in the 20-squad field. Grand Valley State leads the team scoreboard with a 297, followed by Indianapolis (301) and Tiffin (304).

Ashland will play the second and final round of the Music City Invitational on Tuesday (Oct. 23).
