Eagle Track Resumes Season At Ohio State

Seven Ashland University men's and women's indoor track and field throwers resumed their 2016-17 seasons on Friday (Jan. 6) at the Ohio State Buckeye Classic.

In the men's weight throw, junior Daniel Roberts improved on his nation-best distance and automatic nationals qualifying mark with a winning mark of 21.47 meters. Seniors Jordan Crayon (20.03 meters) and Bryn Campbell (19.81 meters) finished third and fourth, respectively, while redshirt freshman Nick Zak improved on a previous provisional nationals mark at 18.70 meters in finishing in sixth place.

Senior Megan Tomei won the women's shot put with a top mark of 15.91 meters, improving upon her previous top Division II mark and automatic nationals-qualifying effort.

Junior Elijah Talk finished second in the men's shot put (17.31 meters), senior Jason Zahn was fourth (16.96 meters) and Roberts took fifth with an improved provisional nationals distance of 16.72 meters.
