Box Score Ashland University's baseball team improved to 27-10 overall, 16-5 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and 12-1 in the GLIAC South Division after a 3-0 win over Walsh on Sunday (April 19) at Donges Field.
The Eagles, ranked No. 20 in Division II and leading the South Division, have taken two of the first three games of the series with the Cavaliers. Game 4 of the series, originally scheduled for Sunday but postponed due to impending rain, has been rescheduled for Tuesday (April 21) at 4 p.m.
Sophomore pitcher Brandyn Sittinger authored a complete-game five-hit shutout, striking out eight and walking two. Sittinger improves his record to 3-1.
Ashland scored single runs in the bottom of the second, fifth and sixth innings. Senior second baseman Stephen James, sophomore right fielder Joey Gonzalez and senior left fielder Kyle Brooks each had two of AU's eight hits.
