Box Score Ashland University's men's basketball team is off to a 2-0 start for the first time in four years after a 75-60 win at Cedarville Saturday (Nov. 15) night in the second and final day of the Third Annual Cedarville University Don Callan Classic.
Sophomore forward Wendell Davis led the Eagles in scoring for the second consecutive night, finishing with 25 points on 9-for-13 shooting from the field and 7-of-8 shooting from the free-throw line against Cedarville. Freshman forward Marsalis Hamilton had 18 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
The Eagles shot better than 50 percent from the field for the second consecutive night (53.2 percent, 25-for-47), and they outrebounded the Yellow Jackets by a 42-24 margin.
Ashland's plus-48 points margin in the first two games of the season is the program's best since start to a campaign since 2000 (plus-71).
Ashland finishes its pre-Thanksgiving nonconference schedule with three games in a six-day span, all at Kates Gymnasium, starting Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. vs. Ohio Christian.
