The Ashland University women's golf team finished second in Gaylord, Mich., in Madonna's Crusader Classic. The two-day tourney concluded on Tuesday (Aug. 27).
The Eagles had a team score of 621 (+45). Bethel, which held the lead after the first day of play, took the championship trophy with a team score of 618 (+42). Madonna finished third (639/+63).
AU senior Nicole Trivisonno (Wickiffe, Ohio/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) shot 153 (+9) and tied for third place. She earned a spoto on the all-tournament team. Sophomore Ali Green (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota West) shot 154 (+10) and finished fifth. She was also on the all-tournament team.
Freshman Kaitlin Neumann shot 156 (+12) to finish sixth. Junior Ashley Franks (Huron, Ohio) shot 162 (+18) and finished 16th.
Katie Holden of Bethel was the medalist. She shot 149 (+5). Courtney Day of Indiana Tech (150/+6) was the runnerup.
