The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) revealed its first regular-season NCAA Division II regional cross country rankings for the 2026 season on Tuesday (Sept. 15) afternoon, and Ashland University's men's team is in the No. 9 spot in the Midwest Region.
This comes after the Eagle men finished in second place at the season-opening Mike Baumer Cross Country Classic at Wright State on Sept. 4.
"Great start to the season so far," said Ashland head coach
Jacob Sussman. "Looking forward to the next few weeks."
The Ashland men and women will compete on each of the next three Fridays – Sept. 18 at the All-Ohio Classic at Cedarville, Sept. 25 at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Preview Meet at Tiffin, and Oct. 2 at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational.
Ashland is one of four Great Midwest teams on the men's side in the Top 10 in the region, along with Walsh (No. 4), Tiffin (No. 5) and Findlay (No. 8). That is the most regionally-ranked men's sides of any of the Midwest's three conferences.
