The Ashland University Athletics Department received another round of Athlete of the Week honors.
Announced by the Great Midwest Athletic Conference on Monday, April 6, the Eagles were represented by
Molly Winner, who took home Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week and
Rachel Crumbacher, who secured Women's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week. Both Winner and Crumbacher have been honored as AOTW multiple times in their respective collegiate careers.
Winner was recognized due to her performance at the Wooster Invitational, where she competed in the hammer throw, tossing an incredible mark of 64.05 meters. That throw put her at the top spot in Division II in hammer throw, and was also a personal and G-MAC record.Â
Crumbacher, on the other hand, helped the women's lacrosse team dominate the Tiffin University Dragons. She netted seven goals and tossed off three assists, all while tacking on seven draw controls. Her performance on the field led the Eagles to their fourth-straight G-MAC win and pushed the team to a 9-4 overall record.Â
The Eagles will look to continue tacking on more AOTW honors as the spring ticks ahead.Â
