The Ashland University women's lacrosse team has been unstoppable as of recent.
And on Monday, April 13, they added more recognition into an already eye-grabbing 2026 campaign.
Released by the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, women's lacrosse student-athletes
Annie Duncan and
Ashley Fisher were honored with Athlete of the Week recognition. Both of them heavily played a part in Ashland's success on the field this past week, where the team took down both the Malone University Pioneers and Walsh University Cavaliers.
Duncan led the Eagles between the pipes, making 11 saves in a win over the Pioneers, before snagging three more in a win against the Cavaliers. Her efforts in goal have led to the Eagles maintaining a perfect, undefeated record in G-MAC action with just two games to go in the regular season. On the year, she's up to 95 total saves and a save percentage of 48%. While in net, the Eagles have gone 8-4.
On the offensive side of the ball, Fisher has continued to be a bright spot.
This past week, she posted six goals, two assists, two ground balls and one caused turnover in a win over the Pioneers, before scoring three goals and dishing off one assist in the win over Walsh. On the season, Fisher now leads the Eagles in goals scored with 45, all while dishing off 16 assists. She currently has 61 total points.Â
The Eagles are next in action on Wednesday, April 15, in a G-MAC clash against the Northwood University Timberwolves. From Ferguson Field on the campus of Ashland University, game time is set for 5:00 p.m. EST.Â
