Box Score The Ashland University softball team, just a day removed from it's first postseason win since 2017, tacked on another victory in the 2026 Great Midwest Athletic Conference championships.
On Thursday, April 30, the Eagles took down the Ohio Dominican Panthers, 1-0, in a low-scoring affair. The win pushes the team to the semifinal round of the G-MAC championships against the University of Findlay Oilers, who upset the No. 1-seeded Tiffin Dragons in their quarterfinal matchup.
To begin Thursday's outing, the Eagles got all they needed in the first inning.
Delaney Maynard began with a lead-off triple, before
Danielle Robbins brought her sprinting home with a sacrifice fly. From there, it was all about pitching and defense, as
Delaney Lis was outstanding, throwing 5.2 scoreless innings while working around a few baserunners. Ashland finished the game with just five total hits.
The Eagles will look to continue punching their ticket deeper and deeper into the conference championships on Friday, where the Eagles and Oilers will face at noon EST.
