Box Score 2 The Ashland University softball team finally completed its rescheduled bout from nearly a month ago.
Due to weather conditions, back on Thursday, March 26, the Eagles and University of Findlay Oilers game was paused during the middle innings. They attempted to wait out the storms, but were not able to get the outing in and completed.
The rescheduled date was set for Monday, April 20, with the two sides competing from Fifth Third Field. The Eagles were able to complete the delayed doubleheader sweep, downing them, 6-4.
The Eagles began the scoring in the second inning, with Delaney Maynard singling to left-center field to make the game 1-0.
From there, Findlay would respond in the following frame, scoring on a sacrifice fly to bring a runner sprinting home, 1-1. They then tacked on another from the bat of Jenna Dee, who smacked a home run into center field to score Joslynne Frazier.
In the fifth, Kate Kujawki, Sophia Martin and Amanda Kolar all helped the Eagles get back on the board and steal the lead back, 6-3. Kujawski doubled, Martin homered, and Kolar walked in Madi Grefe.
Findlay would come back and tack on a run in the bottom of the fifth, with Dee doubling to center field, bringing Alexys Antal home, but it wasn't enough to create a spark big enough to light a fire.
With the win, the Eagles bounce up to 27-13 overall and 15-4 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play on the year.
They have just four regular-season matchups left before the G-MAC tournament begins. The next doubleheader will be on Saturday, April 25, with first-pitch slated for 12:00 p.m. EST from Deb Miller Field at the Archer Ballpark Complex.
