The Eagles are thriving as of late.
On Sunday, March 22, the Ashland University women's lacrosse team concluded its four-game road spell with yet another win, this time over the Davenport Panthers, 16-6. The Eagles went a perfect 4-0 across seven days, with them finally returning home in the coming week.
In the win over the Panthers, the Eagles looked incredibly sharp on the offensive end, with numerous athletes getting involved on the scoring side of things. Ashley Fisher finished the game with four goals, with Rachel Crumbacher and Nataley Blackburn not far behind with three of their own.
Ashland started off the game hot, scoring three goals in the first quarter while holding Davenport scoreless. That type of momentum was carried into the second, where the Eagles were able to net four goals and give up three, taking a 7-3 edge into the break.
The offense stayed consistent after halftime, adding four goals in the third quarter and five more in the fourth to pull away and seal the win.
Tori Wanat also played a critical role in the team's success, leading the way for Ashland with a game-high seven points, scoring two goals and adding five assists.
Ashland's defense limited Davenport's opportunities throughout the game, and goalkeeper Annie Duncan recorded 10 saves.
As the Eagles look to keep the momentum alive, they'll play host to the Thomas More Saints on Thursday, March 26, from Ferguson Field. The two sides will clash at 5:00 p.m. EST, with the game also serving as the Eagles' Senior Day celebration.
