Ashland University's women's lacrosse program is all about firsts these days.
Less than a week after the Eagles' first NCAA Division II postseason win – 12-9 vs. Grand Valley State on Thursday (May 7) – they boast first-team Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association all-region players for the first time.
As announced by the IWLCA on Wednesday (May 13) afternoon, two Ashland players are first-team All-Midwest Region, and two are second-teamers. Senior attacker
Rachel Crumbacher and sophomore midfielder
Tori Wanat are on the first team, while senior attacker
Ashley Fisher and senior goalkeeper
Annie Duncan are on the second team.
- Crumbacher posted 63 goals and 34 assists for 97 points in 21 games this past season, and added 126 draw controls. She was the Great Midwest Athletic Conference's Attacker of the Year and a league first-teamer, and also was named the conference tournament Most Valuable Player.
- Wanat collected 43 goals and 34 assists for 77 points, as well as 108 draw controls and 37 ground balls, in 21 games this spring. She was first-team All-Great Midwest and on the conference all-tournament team.
- Fisher ended the season with 61 goals and 23 assists for 84 points in 21 games. She was a first-team all-conference performer.
- Duncan was 16-5 with an 8.59 goals-against average and 124 saves this spring, and was named first-team All-Great Midwest and conference all-tournament team.
Ashland finished 2026 at 16-5 overall and 8-0 in the Great Midwest – winning the conference regular-season and tournament championships for the second season in a row. The Eagles also qualified for the NCAA postseason for a second straight season.
