Box Score 2 On Tuesday (March 10) in Florida, Ashland University's softball team went 1-1 for the third consecutive day, rallying to defeat Glenville State 8-5 after losing 12-3 to McKendree.

After an 0-3 start to the season, the Eagles (6-8) are 6-5 in their last 11 contests.

Against Glenville, the Pioneers scored twice in the bottom of the third inning, then the Eagles came back to score a two-out run in the fourth on an RBI single by senior third baseman
Amanda Kolar.

Glenville scored once in the fifth, but Ashland came back again the next half-inning with a run in the sixth on another Kolar run-scoring safety.

The Pioneers plated two runs in the bottom of the sixth, but Ashland had one more rally left in it.

A Pioneer error in the seventh allowed to AU runs to score to make it a 5-4 game, then senior pitcher
Cassidy Shaffer gave the Eagles the lead with a two-run single. Kolar's third RBI single of the contest, then junior shortstop
Sophia Martin's RBI double, made it an 8-5 game.

Kolar was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and senior second baseman
Danielle Robbins scored three times and drove in two runs.

Shaffer (1-2) earned the relief pitching win, going the last three innings, striking out one and allowing four hits, three runs (one earned) and one walk.
