Two more Ashland University student-athletes earned Great Midwest Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week recognition in their respective sports on Monday (Feb. 9) afternoon – senior forward
Maceo Williams (men's basketball) and junior back/base/tumbler
Makiah Francis (STUNT).
Williams led the Eagle men (17-6 overall, 11-4 Great Midwest) to a pair of wins last week at the Sherrill Hudson Court at Kates Gymnasium – 63-57 over Thomas More on Thursday (Feb. 5) night, and 73-67 vs. Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday (Feb. 7) afternoon. He averaged 16.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game for week, making 55.0 percent from the floor and 3-of-7 from 3-point range.
In those games, Williams recorded two double-doubles, including a career-high 16 rebounds vs. the Panthers.
For the 2025-26 season, Williams – now a three-time Athlete of the Week – is averaging 18.9 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steal per game, while hitting 59.9 percent from the field and 35.9 percent from 3-point range.
Ashland will travel to Cedarville (9-13, 4-10) for a Great Midwest game at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday (Feb. 12).
Francis paced the No. 8-ranked Eagle STUNT team in its first two home games of 2026 on Sunday (Feb. 8) – victories over No. 19 Walsh, 21-1, and No. 12 Tiffin, 35-16. She scored a team-high 34 points against the Cavaliers, then a team-best 52 points vs. the Dragons.
Through six games this season, Francis leads the Eagles in power rating at 29.167.
Eagle STUNT (4-2) will go back on the road on Friday (Feb. 13) at 6 p.m. to play at Mercyhurst.
