Eagle Men Win, Women Lose At Indiana Wesleyan

On Saturday (Feb. 21) night, Ashland University's tennis teams continued their non-conference schedules at Indiana Wesleyan – the Eagle men (3-4) winning 4-1, and the AU women (0-6) losing 4-0.
 
In doubles, Ashland's men took two of the third decisions. At No. 2, junior Ryohei Miyake and senior Tomas Paskauskas topped Valentino Trento and Timo Fischer, 6-4; at No. 3, it was sophomore Bernardo Duarte and junior Doug Cree defeating Carter Poquette and Isaiah Hostetler, 6-3.
 
The Eagle men clinched the victory with three singles wins – Duarte over Michail Klinkov at No. 2, 6-3, 2-6, 7-6; freshman Eduardo Lima over Fischer at No. 3, 7-5, 6-0; and Paskauskas over Trento at No. 4, 6-4, 6-1.
 
COMING UP
Both teams will travel to Lawrence Tech for matches at 3 p.m. on Saturday (Feb. 28).
