The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) revealed its first NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Rating Index on Tuesday (Jan. 27) afternoon, with Ashland University's women being slotted No. 11 in the country.
With 76.69 team rating points, the Eagle women are second among Great Midwest Athletic Conference teams to Hillsdale (eighth, 90.39). Of those points, the majority have been earned by four top-five performers nationally:
- No. 1-ranked junior Molly Winner in the weight throw (24.62 points, 21.12 meters/69-feet-3½).
- No. 2-ranked junior Leslie Pollock in the weight throw (20.98 points, 20.29 meters/66-feet-7).
- No. 4-ranked Winner in the shot put (15.93 points, 16.02 meters/52-feet-6¾).
- No. 5-ranked senior Jade Avance in the 800-meter run (13.65 points, 2:09.16).
Ashland's women and men will compete at Louisville's PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 30-31).
