The promotional schedule for the five 2025 Ashland University football home games at Jack Miller Stadium/Martinelli Field has been announced.

Saturday, Sept. 20, 1 p.m. vs. Hillsdale (Home Opener / Traveling Trophy / Martinelli Seat Dedication / Reunions for 1955, 1960, 1965, 1980 and 1985 teams / Championship Recognition / 2025-26 Eagle Teams Parade)
The teams being recognized are:
  • 1955 – finished 7-2 and won the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference for head coach Robert Brownson.
  • 1960 – Hall of Fame head coach Dr. Fred Martinelli's first MOAC title team, finishing at 6-3.
  • 1965 – A 7-1-1 team under Martinelli, and the last Eagle team to win the MOAC.
  • 1980 – The program's first Heartland Collegiate Conference championship team, which finished 6-3-1.
  • 1985 – The fourth Ashland team to win the HCC, ending 6-4 after an 0-4 start.
Two seats in the stadium are being dedicated in Martinelli's memory. That will take place at halftime, as will a recognition of AU's 2024-25 championship teams.

This will be the 49th edition of the Traveling Trophy game between Ashland and Hillsdale. It is one of only a few remaining NCAA-recognized trophy games.

Also there will be a pre-game parade/introduction of the 2025-26 Eagle teams.

Saturday, Oct. 11, 1 p.m. vs. Thomas More (101st Homecoming game)
A new century of Ashland football Homecoming games will start with a meeting with the Saints. The Eagles are 70-25-5 all-time on Homecoming, including 14-1 on Broad Street.

Prior to the game, the 2025 Ashland University Hall of Fame Induction and Student-Athlete of the Year recognition will take place at 9:30 a.m. at the John C. Myers Convocation Center.

Saturday, Nov. 1, 1 p.m. vs. Walsh (Youth Day)

Saturday, Nov. 8, 1 p.m. vs. Findlay (Military and First Responder Appreciation Day / Reunion for 2015 team)
This game will recognize those individuals who serve and protect our community at home and abroad. Military and first responders will receive complimentary admission, plus one guest.

The 2015 Eagle season featured head coach Lee Owens' second undefeated regular season at Ashland, a final record of 10-1, a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title and a home NCAA Division II playoff game.

Saturday, Nov. 15, 1 p.m. vs. Lake Erie (Senior Day)

In 2024, the Eagles finished 9-4 overall and 8-1 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, winning the conference championship outright and earning a road NCAA Division II postseason victory for the first time in program history. Ashland was 23rd in the final 2024 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches Poll.

Ashland returns eight starters on offense, five starters on defense and two starters on special teams this fall. The new campaign begins at Indiana, Pa., at 7 p.m. on Sept. 4.
