Ashland Women’s Basketball Lands On WBCA Academic Honor Roll With 10th-Best GPA In D-II

For the 17th time, Ashland University's women's basketball team has earned a spot on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll in NCAA Division II.
 
As announced by the WBCA on Tuesday (July 22) afternoon, the Eagles finished the most recent academic year with the 10th-best team grade-point average in D-II at 3.795.
 
Ashland also earned WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll recognition in 2023-24 (first), 2022-23 (fourth), 2021-22 (sixth), 2019-20 (second), 2017-18 (sixth), 2015-16 (tied for 14th), 2014-15 (tied for seventh), 2013-14 (ninth), 2012-13 (11th), 2011-12 (18th), 2010-11 (tied for 17th), 2009-10 (fifth), 2008-09 (third), 2007-08 (15th), 2002-03 (15th) and 2001-02 (12th).
 
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes college women's basketball teams across the nation in their respective divisions that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season.
 
Eagle women's basketball finished 32-4 overall and 19-1 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference last season, winning both the conference regular-season and tournament titles for a fourth straight year. Ashland also reached the D-II Sweet 16 for the eighth time in program history.
 
Over the last 14 seasons (2011-12 to 2024-25), Ashland is 422-45 (.904) with three NCAA Division II national titles, two national runner-up finishes, three undefeated seasons, a D-II-record 73-game winning streak, nine 30-win seasons, 13 NCAA postseason qualifications, 10 conference regular-season championships, 11 conference tournament titles, and a mark of 227-14 (.942) at the Sherrill Hudson Court at Kates Gymnasium.
