To conclude the 2025-26 regular season, Ashland University's women's basketball team lost 74-71 at Findlay on Saturday (Feb. 28) afternoon.
The Eagles will go into the 2026 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament at 14-12 overall and 10-10 in the league, while the Oilers will do the same at 15-12, 11-9.
Ashland's G-MAC tourney opener will be on Tuesday (March 3) at Northwood at a time to be determined.
Of Ashland's 12 losses this winter, seven have been decided by five points or less.
WRAPPING IT UP
- Freshman forward Jenna Slates posted team highs with 19 points and eight rebounds on Saturday. With 295 boards in her rookie campaign, she ranks 10th in program history for a single season.
- Sophomore point guard Ashley Mullet came off the bench for 17 points, and rounding out four Eagles in double-digit scoring were junior guard Gia Casalinova (11) and senior guard Alysa Lopez (10).
- Ashland turned the ball over just eight times, and made 72.2 percent (13-of-18) from the free-throw line.
