On Sunday (May 4) night, Ashland University's women's lacrosse team, after the initial conference titles in program history, found out where and against whom it will play its first D-II playoff game – Thursday (May 8) at 3 p.m. vs. Regis at Indianapolis' Key Stadium.
The Eagles are 14-5 (a program-record number of wins in a season), and have won seven in a row and 11 of the last 12. The Rangers are 13-4.
This will be the first-ever meeting in women's lacrosse between Ashland and Regis.
The winner of Thursday afternoon's game will take on the host Greyhounds (13-6) at 3 p.m. on Saturday (May 10) in the tournament's second round.
Ashland is coming off a 20-3 win over Findlay in the 2025 Great Midwest Tournament title game on Saturday (May 3) at Jack Miller Stadium/Martinelli Field.
A 24-team tournament, the NCAA Division II postseason will consist of four six-team regionals. The 2025 D-II championship game will be May 24 at 5 p.m. at Kerr Stadium in Salem, Va..
In the Midwest Region, automatic qualifiers come from each of three conferences – the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, Great Lakes Valley Conference and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The other three spots come from at-large selections.
