Ashley Fisher, senior baseball pitcher
Cam Scott, senior softball designated player/pitcher
Cassidy Shaffer, and sophomore track and field thrower
Molly Winner all were recognized on Monday (March 31) afternoon.
Â
In the tied-for-first place Eagles' 22-7 home win over Thomas More last week, Fisher had four goals and four assists for eight points, and added a ground ball and a caused turnover. Prior to Monday afternoon's game vs. Maryville at Ferguson Field, Fisher was leading the Great Midwest in both assists (31) and points (63).
Â
Scott took a no-hitter into the seventh inning of AU baseball's series finale at Cedarville on Saturday (March 29), ending with a two-hit shutout over seven innings. He walked two and struck out eight, in winning his second consecutive decision.
Â
For first-place Eagle softball, in a 4-0 road week against Kentucky Wesleyan and Thomas More, Shaffer hit .500 (7-for-14) with five runs scored, a home run, eight RBIs and four walks. In the second game at Thomas More on Sunday (March 30), she went 4-for-4 with four runs scored, two RBIs and a walk at the plate, and allowed six hits, a run and a walk and struck out four in five innings in the pitcher's circle.
Â
Winner, in the outdoor track and field opener at Cedarville on Saturday, landed No. 2 in the country in both the women's hammer throw and shot put. She set a new meet and track record in the hammer at 61.14 meters/200-feet-7), and also earned a national provisional mark in the shot put (14.98 meters/49-feet-1¾).
