As announced by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday (March 25) afternoon, five Ashland University basketball players – four women's and one men's – are on the 2024-25 CSC NCAA Division II Academic All-District Teams.
- Sophomore wing/guard Aden Gregory is an Academic All-District choice for the first time after a breakout season, averaging 8.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists, and making 51.1 percent from the field, 43.4 percent from 3-point range and 86.7 percent from the free-throw line. Gregory has a 3.88 cumulative grade-point average through the 2024 fall semester as an Accounting major.
- Senior forward Zoe Miller is a two-time Academic All-District choice. A first-teamer on the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Midwest Region team, Great Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year and all-conference first-teamer, Miller averaged 14.6 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.0 steal per game, and hit 54.9 percent from the floor and 42.3 percent from beyond the arc. Miller has a 3.89 cumulative GPA as a Psychology major.
- Another senior forward, Hayley Smith, is an Academic All-District first-timer. This past season, she was a Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) honorable mention All-American and first-team All-Great Midwest, going for 11.8 points, 10.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.4 steals per game, while shooting 55.4 percent from the field and 76.9 percent from the free-throw line. Her rebounding average was third-best in a season in program history, as were her 391 total rebounds. Smith has a 3.72 cumulative GPA as a Fine Arts major.
- Graduate guard Lydia Sweeney is an Academic All-District pick in her only season with Ashland women's basketball. An All-Great Midwest second-teamer, she averaged 9.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.4 steals per game, and made 81.0 percent from the foul line. Sweeney had a 3.87 undergrad GPA in Health and Physical Education at Cedarville, and sports a 4.00 grad GPA in Master of Education Curriculum and Instruction (Teaching and Learning in the 21st Century).
- Senior guard Morgan Yoder is an Academic All-District selection for the third time – becoming the fifth AU women's basketball player to accomplish the feat. This past season, she averaged 7.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game, and made 43.6 percent from the field and 41.3 percent from 3-point range. Yoder has a 3.99 cumulative GPA in Education (Intervention Specialist Mild/Moderate/Intensive).
The 2024-25 CSC NCAA Division II Academic All-America teams will be revealed on April 15 (men) and April 16 (women).
Ashland women's basketball finished 32-4 overall and 19-1 in the Great Midwest in 2024-25, winning both the conference regular-season and tournament titles for a fourth straight year. AU also reached the D-II Sweet 16 for the eighth time in program history.
Eagle men's basketball went 15-13 overall and 11-9 in the Great Midwest this past season, and qualified for a conference tournament for the 11
th straight season.
