Women’s Lacrosse Opens Great Midwest Play With Home Rout Of Storm

Ashland University's women's lacrosse team has won three of the last four games – all at Ferguson Field – following a 21-3 victory over Lake Erie in the 2025 Great Midwest Athletic Conference opener on Wednesday (March 19) afternoon.

The Eagles are 5-4 overall and 1-0 in the Great Midwest, and the Storm are 1-6, 0-1. Ashland is 7-0 all-time vs. LEC.

"We had a nice team win," said Ashland head coach Lauren Simko. "We were good on both sides of the ball today. We came up with the defensive stops that we needed, and we had a very balanced attack."

Ashland put together a season-high in goals, and fell one goal short of the program record of 22, set in 2019 vs. Lewis.
