There's just something about Ashland University women's basketball senior forwards.
The No. 5-ranked Eagles have three of them, and all three were honored by the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, as the 2025 league all-tournament team was announced on Monday (March 10) afternoon.
Sarah McKee is the tournament Most Valuable Player after hitting 11-of-13 (84.6 percent) from the field and averaging 8.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.0 block and 1.3 steals per game. She was 6-for-6 from the field and recorded 14 points and six rebounds in the championship game.
Both
Zoe Miller and
Hayley Smith are on the all-tournament team. Miller averaged 14.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 blocks last week, while Smith went for 12.0 points, 11.7 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 1.3 steals in the tourney.
The Eagles won all three of their conference tournament games, all at the Sherrill Hudson Court at Kates Gymnasium – 81-49 vs. Thomas More in a quarterfinal, 73-51 vs. Northwood in a semifinal and 69-57 against Hillsdale in the championship game.
Ashland (30-3) will begin the 2025 NCAA Division II Midwest Regional tournament on Friday (March 14) at 2:30 p.m. vs. Ferris State (21-11) at Grand Valley State.
