Hunt Earns 3-Meter Diving League Title On Day 1 Of Conference Meet

Ashland University sophomore Riley Hunt repeated as a conference champion in women's 3-meter diving, as the 2025 Great Midwest Athletic Conference / Mountain East Conference Championship got underway on Wednesday (Feb. 12).
 
Hunt's score of 422.30 was good enough for her to win the event for a second straight year. Junior Maddi Whitticar was second (385.10 points), and freshman Ella Howard finished third (329.70 points).
 
Second-place relay finishes on Wednesday came from the men's 200-yard medley of sophomore Colin Pham, junior Nick Girz, sophomore Evan Kemp and junior Andrew Oates (1:32.25), and the men's 200 freestyle relay of junior Cole Huebner, Oates, senior Robin Falk and Girz (1:23.08).
 
Kemp also was an individual runner-up in the men's 200 individual medley in 1:53.37.
 
Silver medals were earned by the women's 200 medley relay of freshman Yasmim Tomita, senior Colleen Cox, and sophomore Payton Meyer and Payton O'Toole (1:49.25), and junior Jason Basile in the men's 1,000 free (9:44.50).
 
FOURTH – The women's 200 free relay of freshman Raechel Serafimov, sophomores Blair Pichola and Delaney Spradlin, and Cox (1:39.83), and sophomore Grant Brown in the men's 1,000 free (9:51.01).
 
SIXTH – Fifth-year Josh Hagan in the men's 200 IM (1:58.06).
 
EIGHTH – Falk in the men's 1,000 free (10:15.73), junior Nick Olquin in the men's 200 IM (1:58.89), and freshman Brooke Patel in the women's 200 IM (2:15.00).
 
Ashland's men are second in the team standings after Day 1 with 394 points (Findlay first with 471), and the Eagle women are third with 317 points (Findlay first with 504, Hillsdale second with 323).
