The Ashland University swimming and diving team was well represented in the annual Great Midwest Athletic Conference postseason awards.
On Friday, March 27, it was announced that the Eagles were able to secure multiple individual honors and All-Conference selections following the conference championships that concluded just a few months ago.
Leading the way for the Eagles were senior diver Joey Lenczyk and junior diver Riley Hunt. Both were named Great Midwest Diver of the Year on the men's and women's side. Their efforts on the diving board were also good enough for First Team All-Conference honors.
Alongside Lenczyk and Hunt, Rachel Stanchek earned an individual accolade. Due to how she excelled both in the pool and in the classroom, she was recognized with the prestigious Great Midwest Elite 26 award. This award recognizes the top student-athlete in the conference who shows excellence in academics and athletics.
Freshman Lincoln Shirley was also able to win the Men's Co-Freshman of the Year, helping set the stage for future success for the Eagles' program.
As the Eagles turn the page to the offseason, they'll look to continue contending for Great Midwest championships and individual honors in the future.
