There's just one more day to go.
On Thursday, Feb. 12, the Ashland University swimming and diving team completed Day 3 of the 2026 Great Midwest Athletic Conference / Mountain East Conference Championship. Like days prior, the diving team headlined the Eagles' top results.
This time, it was the men's side in the 3-meter diving event. Joey Lenczyk led the group, scoring 520.45 points, while Altin Rowland came in second and Grant Wallery placed third.
In the men's 500-yard freestyle, the Eagles secured 76 total team points, with Jason Basile's sixth-place finish being the top spot, coming in at a time of 4:47.05. Robin Falk finished just behind him in seventh place.
Heading into the women's 100-yard backstroke, Yasmim Tomita gave the Eagles one of the team's best individual swimming finishes, taking fourth with a time of 56.96.
Following Tomita, Colleen Cox finished in fourth in the women's 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:06.71. On the men's end, they totaled a strong 67 points off the back of Nick Girz, who came in sixth place with a time of 56.16.
In the women's 200-yard butterfly, Juliana Pignato took fifth place, finishing with a 2:12.95 time. The men also put up an impressive showing in the 200-yard butterfly, with Nick Olquin coming in sixth place at a time of 1:55.18, and Cole Huebner followed right behind in seventh.
As the night concluded, the women's 800-yard freestyle relay team placed fourth while the men finished in third.
Currently, the men are second, and the women are in third in total team points heading into the final day of the championships. The Eagles now turn the page in hopes of finishing strong, with the prelims beginning at 10:00 a.m. EST and the finals at 5:30 p.m. EST.
