After winning its fourth Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament championship in five years, five Ashland University women's soccer players have earned all-tournament team selection, led by the Most Valuable Player, senior forward
Dani Hicks.
Hicks, also the Great Midwest Offensive Player of the Year, scored a hat trick in less than 31 minutes in the Eagles' 3-0 win over Findlay at Ferguson Field in the Great Midwest Tournament championship game on Saturday (Nov. 15) night.
Senior midfielder
Emily Pate assisted on Hicks' first two goals, while fifth-year goalkeeper
Jaya Daniel and junior defenders
Clara Richardson and
Adi Turnbaugh paced a defense which turned in two conference tourney clean sheets, to land spots on the team.
The No. 13-ranked Eagles (13-2-5), the No. 3 seed in the Midwest Region, will play the No. 6 seed Drury (10-2-8) to open NCAA Division II postseason play on Friday (Nov. 21) at McKendree.
