No. 13 Eagle Women Lose NCAA Second-Round Game To Tritons

In an NCAA Division II second-round playoff game on Sunday (Nov. 23) at McKendree, the No. 13-ranked Ashland University women's soccer team lost 1-0 to Missouri-St. Louis.
 
The Eagles' season ends at 14-3-5. Ashland won both the Great Midwest Athletic Conference's regular-season and tournament titles in 2025.
 
Missouri-St. Louis (14-4-2) scored in the 14th minute when Maddie Clark took a right-to-left cross from Josie Maddox and potted the goal.
 
WRAPPING IT UP
  • UMSL out-shot the Eagles, 10-5.
  • Ashland took four corner kicks to the Tritons' three.
  • Fifth-year goalkeeper Jaya Daniel (13-2-5) made six saves on Sunday.
  • This was the 15th time the Eagles have played in the D-II playoffs (1997-2004, 2018-19, 2021-25), and the seventh non-COVID season in a row.
