Ashland University senior forward
Dani Hicks has been the model of consistency over her four-year collegiate career.
Â
That's on the field. But she's also gotten consistent when it comes to earning awards, as well.
Â
On Tuesday (Nov. 25) afternoon, Hicks was lauded for the second season in a row as the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioner's Association's (D2CCA) Midwest Region Player of the Year. During the 2025 season, Hicks posted 15 goals and nine assists for 39 points over 21 games (all starts).
Â
Her point total is tied for fifth in the country, her goal mark is 11
th, and her assists have her tied for 17
th.
Â
This adds to an already-impressive postseason awards list for Hicks this fall, which also includes College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District, Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player, Great Midwest Offensive Player of the Year and first-team all-league.
Â
Senior midfielder
Emily Pate earned second-team all-region honors. A first-team all-conference, all-conference tourney team and CSC Academic All-District selection, Pate ended the fall with six goals and four assists for 16 points.
Â
Eagle women's soccer was 14-3-5 overall and 10-0-4 in the Great Midwest in 2025, winning both the conference's regular-season and tournament titles, and was victorious in the first round of the NCAA postseason.
