Eagle Wrestling Opens Season At No. 16 Nationally, Eight Grapplers Ranked Individually

In the 2025-26 preseason National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) NCAA Division II rankings, Ashland University is the No. 16 team in the country – and eight Eagles are slotted in the top 15 at their respective weight classes:

• FIFTH – Senior Nate Barrett at 165 pounds.
• SEVENTH – Junior Hayden Kuhn at 149 pounds.
• NINTH – Senior Wyatt Bailey at 285 pounds.
• 10TH – Junior Luke Acuna at 125 pounds.
• 12TH – Senior Sevriano Garza at 174 pounds.
• 13TH – Sophomore Lance Overmyer at 157 pounds.
• 14TH – Junior Peyton Lemon at 197 pounds.
• 15TH – Sophomore Brock Durbin at 141 pounds.

Barrett, Kuhn, Bailey, Acuna, Garza, Overmyer and Durbin all are returning NCAA Division II national qualifiers.
 
Ashland's new campaign will open on Saturday (Nov. 1) at 9 a.m. at the Glenville State Pioneer Open.
