Ashland Men, Women End Home Season With Wins Over Allegheny On Senior Day

On Saturday (Jan. 25) afternoon at the Messerly Natatorium, Ashland University's men's and women's swimming and diving teams topped Allegheny – women 195-36, men 192-28.
 
Earning two individual wins each for the Eagles on Saturday were sophomore Payton O'Toole in the women's 1,000-yard freestyle (11:21.32) and 200 individual medley (2:20.78), sophomore Delaney Spradlin in the women's 200 free (2:08.29) and 100 backstroke (1:05.83), sophomore Evan Kemp in the men's 200 free (1:46.84) and 100 back (55.51), junior Jason Basile in the men's 1,000 free (10:29.31) and 500 free (5:00.20), senior Colleen Cox in the women's 50 free (25.80 seconds) and 100 breaststroke (1:13.22), junior Joey Lenczyk in men's 1-meter (397.50) and 3-meter (433.15) diving, and sophomore Riley Hunt in women's 1-meter (402.80) and 3-meter (429.70) diving.
 
One victory each were turned in by:

• Senior Robin Falk in the men's 50 free (22.39 seconds).
• Freshman William Collins in the men's 200 IM (2:04.62).
• Sophomore Juliana Pignato in the women's 100 butterfly (1:02.42).
• Junior Cole Huebner in the men's 100 fly (54.45 seconds).
• Freshman Yasmim Tomita in the women's 100 free (56.05 seconds).
• Sophomore Colin Pham in the men's 100 free (48.37 seconds).
• Freshman Julia Reed in the women's 500 free (5:40.96).
• Freshman Bikash Kumal in the men's 100 breaststroke (1:01.38).

In relay events, the Eagle women's 200 medley of Tomita, Cox, sophomore Payton Meyer and senior Holly Kraemer won in 1:58.30; the men's 200 medley of Pham, junior Nick Girz, Falk and fifth-year Josh Hagan crossed first in 1:38.70; the women's 200 free relay quartet of Pignato, O'Toole, Cox and Kraemer won in 1:48.45; and the men's 200 free relay of Girz, junior Andrew Oates, Falk and Hagan were victorious in 1:29.37.
