Swimming and Diving Dusty Sloan, Ashland University Director of Athletic Communications

Eagle Men, Women Top Bluffton In Home Dual

Ashland University's men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed in their next-to-last meet at Messerly Natatorium in 2024-25 on Friday (Jan. 24) night, with both teams topping Bluffton.
 
The Eagle women won 178-13, and the AU men earned a 172-22 decision.
 
Ashland's divers each earned two wins on Friday night. Sophomore Riley Hunt took the women's 1-meter (255.15 points) and 3-meter diving (301.85 points), and junior Joey Lenczyk won the men's 1-meter (271.05 points) and 3-meter (296.45 points) diving.
 
Sophomore Payton O'Toole, the reigning Great Midwest Athletic Conference women's swimming Athlete of the Week, won the women's 50-yard freestyle in 25.41 seconds. She also was part of the winning women's 200 free relay (1:45.14), along with sophomores Anna Ramsier and Delaney Spradlin, and freshman Julia Reed.
 
Ashland's individuals wins on Friday also included:
  • Freshman Brooke Patel in the women's 1,000 free (11:14.29).
  • Senior Robin Falk in the men's 100 free (10:54.48).
  • Reed in the women's 200 free (2:10.29).
  • Freshman William Collins in the men's 200 free (1:51.57).
  • Junior Cole Huebner in the men's 50 free (22.58 seconds).
  • Freshman Stephanie Holubetz in the women's 200 individual medley (2:23.50).
  • Sophomore Evan Kemp in the men's 200 IM (2:01.17).
  • Junior Mary Kate Prall in the women's 100 butterfly (1:03.58).
  • Junior Andrew Oates in the men's 100 fly (56.55 seconds).
  • Sophomore Emma Stoll in the women's 100 free (1:01.53).
  • Junior Ayden Mason in the men's 100 free (51.48 seconds).
  • Sophomore Juliana Pignato in the women's 100 backstroke (1:03.25).
  • Freshman Grant Wallery in the men's 100 back (1:02.97).
  • Senior Colleen Cox in the women's 500 free (5:55.33).
  • Sophomore Colin Pham in the men's 500 free (4:58.22).
  • Sophomore Blair Pichola in the women's 100 breaststroke (1:14.46).
  • Junior Jack Elliott in the men's 100 breaststroke (1:00.87).
The Eagles' women's 200 medley relay quarter of Stoll, sophomore Rachel Stanchek, Pignato and freshman Jaidyn Jordan won in 2:03.07; the men's 200 medley relay of Pham, sophomore Grant Brown, fifth-year Josh Hagan and Collins won in 1:44.08; and the men's 200 free relay of Hagan, junior Josh Bachinsky, Brown and Huebner touched the finish first in 1:35.57.
