For the second year in a row, Ashland University fifth-year forward
Annie Roshak has been chosen as the Great Midwest Athletic Conference's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
This latest award for Roshak comes on the heels of her being voted as the 2023-24 Great Midwest women's Collegiate Achievement Award recipient.
Roshak becomes the first student-athlete to be named Great Midwest Scholar-Athlete of the Year twice in a row.
In Ashland's MBA program, Roshak boasts a post-graduate grade-point average of 3.97. Her other 2023-24 season accolades and accomplishments include:
- College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District.
- Averaging 15.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game, making 59.3 percent from the field, 39.5 percent from 3-point range and 84.9 percent from the free-throw line, and scoring a team-high 509 points for a 31-2 team which won both the Great Midwest regular-season and tournament championships, and reached the NCAA Division II postseason.
- First-team Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-American and second-team Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-American.
- D2CCA All-Midwest Region first team.
- All-Great Midwest Tournament Team.
- Great Midwest Player of the Year and first-team all-league.
- Becoming the program's all-time leading scorer with 2,370 career points.
Each academic year, the conference shall grant Scholar-Athlete Awards to one male member and one female who has compiled the most outstanding record in athletics, scholarship and leadership. To be eligible for consideration for this award, the student-athlete must have participated for a minimum of one year in a sport sponsored by a member institution.
