Eagle Football Announces Second Set Of 2024 Recruits

Ashland University's football team revealed its first 40 recruits for 2024 on National Signing Day on Feb. 7.
 
More recruits have signed on the dotted line since then, and biographical information on 15 more future Eagles can be found below:
 
TREY BOOKER, K – FR./6-0, 195 – ONTARIO, OHIO/ONTARIO
  • Earned varsity letters in football and track and field.
  • Son of Sue and Shawn Booker.
 
BRADY BUMGARDNER, TE – FR./6-3, 242 – SPRINGFIELD, OHIO/SHAWNEE
  • Named honorable mention All-Ohio and first-team All-Central Buckeye Conference as a senior.
  • Was second-team All-Southwest District and first-team All-CBC as a junior.
  • Four-time varsity letter in both football and track and field, one-time in basketball.
  • Son of Jeff and Janel Bumgarner.
 
CAMERON BUTLER-WOODS, LB – FR./5-10, 200 – PICKERINGTON, OHIO/NORTH
  • Earned two varsity football letters.
  • Son of LaShae Butler.
 
ESTEVAN CARRILLO, S – FR./6-0, 170 – LEIPSIC, OHIO/LEIPSIC
  • Top prep statistics include 237 tackles, seven interceptions and three forced fumbles on defense, and 1,170 rushing yards, 61 catches, 700 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns on offense.
  • Four-time all-conference honoree.
  • Was a varsity letter winner four times in football, three times in basketball and one time in track and field.
  • Son of Cynthia Garcia.
 
GAVIN DOUGLASS, LB – FR./6-0, 211 – DENNISON, OHIO/CLAYMONT
  • Made 94 tackles as a senior and 112 tackles as a junior.
  • Second-team All-Ohio selection as a junior, four-time All-Region II, three-time first-team All-Inter Valley Conference, and first-team All-Eastern District as a junior.
  • Earned four varsity letters each in football and basketball, and two in baseball.
  • Son of Ryan and Lisa Douglass.
 
MAISHAUN HAYES, CB – FR./6-0, 160 – BUCHANAN, MICH./BUCHANAN
  • As a senior, had an interception, 25 tackles and six pass breakups.
  • Earned varsity letters in football.
  • Son of Marshall Hayes and Jasmine Grey.
 
KOLIN IVY, CB – FR./5-11, 170 – MIAMISBURG, OHIO/MIAMISBURG
  • Earned four varsity letters in football.
  • Son of Tonya Alexander.
 
DAMIEN JOHNSON JR., S – FR./6-0, 175 – AKRON, OHIO/BUCHTEL
  • Named honorable mention All-Ohio defensive back.
  • Earned three varsity letters each in football, basketball and track and field.
  • Son of Trella Harvey.
 
DANTE LANDERS, CB – FR./5-10, 175 – EUCLID, OHIO/VILLA ANGELA-ST. JOSEPH
  • Earned first-team All-Ohio status.
  • Three varsity letters in football and track and field.
  • Son of Ralph and Maria Landers.
 
ALEX POST, OL – FR./6-1, 295 – LEWIS CENTER, OHIO/OLENTANGY
  • Was a three-time varsity letter winner in football, and two-time varsity letter winner in track and field.
  • Son of Brett and Susan Post.
 
IAN RUTHERFORD, OL – FR./6-3, 280 – GRANVILLE, OHIO/GRANVILLE
  • Part of three Licking County League championship teams.
  • Earned three varsity letters in football and two in wrestling.
  • Son of Tue and Marcia Rutherford.
 
BRAYDEN STEFAN, OL – FR./6-1, 300 – BARBERTON, OHIO/BARBERTON
  • Member of Ohio postseason teams as junior and senior.
  • Named honorable mention All-Northeast Inland district and second-team All-Suburban League.
  • Was two-time varsity letter winner in both football and basketball.
  • Son of Shaun and Jamie Stefan.
 
DARON TRAVIS JR., WR – FR./5-9, 160 – FRISCO, TEXAS/PANTHER CREEK
  • Son of Daron Travis and Erica Nickels.
 
MANAKI WATANABE, K – FR./6-1, 180 – NOVI, MICH./SOUTH LYON EAST
  • Part of three Lakes Valley Conference playoff teams.
  • Top prep statistics include touchbacks on 75 percent of kickoffs, 20-for-20 on extra points and 7-for-7 on field goals.
  • Earned four varsity letters each in football and soccer.
  • Son of Takeo and Yoshino Watanabe.
 
JACOB WHEELER, K – FR./6-0, 165 – NEWARK, OHIO/LICKING VALLEY
  • Second-team All-Ohio kicker, and Licking County League Specialist of the Year.
  • First-team all-district kicker.
  • Set program record for yards per reception at 25.8.
  • Varsity letter winner in football, basketball and track and field.
  • Son of Jim and Donna Hunt.
