Baseball Tops Winona State, Wins First Florida Game Of 2024

Box Score Ashland University's baseball team improved to 4-1 on the young 2024 season following an 8-3 win against Winona State (0-5) on Saturday (March 2) in Florida.
 
Leading 2-1 after four innings, the Eagles pulled away with one run in the fifth, three in the sixth and two in the seventh.
 
POST-GAME NUGGETS
  • Junior center fielder Cam Miller was 2-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored, and junior first baseman Sam Witt finished 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored.
  • Yet another junior, right-hander Cam Scott (1-0), allowed six hits, a run and two walks and struck out seven in six innings. Senior righty Justin Dyksma earned his first save by getting a strikeout to end the game.
