No. 19 AU Wrestlers End Regular Season With Sixth Straight Dual Victory

In the first-ever dual between the two programs, the No. 19-ranked Ashland University wrestling team topped Thomas More on the road, 28-15, on Saturday (Feb. 17) afternoon.
 
The Eagles conclude the 2023-24 regular season with a six-match winning streak and a 7-9 duals record, while the Saints are 5-6.
 
Ashland earned five non-forfeit victories on Saturday afternoon, including technical falls from redshirt freshman 125-pounder Luke Acuna (20-5), No. 10-ranked sophomore Nate Barrett at 174 pounds (16-1), and redshirt freshman Peyton Lemon at 197 pounds (17-2).
 
Sophomore 165-pounder Evan Davis earned an 18-5 major decision, and No. 9-ranked graduate 157-pounder Drew Wiechers took a 10-3 decision.
 
UP NEXT
Ashland will start the NCAA Division II postseason on March 2 at the Region 3 tournament in West Liberty, W.Va.
