Eagle Men, Women Earn Multiple Victories On Wooster Invite Day 2

Hunt Qualifies For 2025 D-II Nationals In Diving

Four more wins were earned by Ashland University swimmers and divers on Friday (Dec. 6) on Day 2 of the Wooster Invitational.
 
In the men's 200-yard medley relay, sophomore Colin Pham, junior Nick Girz, sophomore Evan Kemp and junior Andrew Oates won in 1:33.46, Girz won the men's 100 breaststroke in 56.64 seconds, and freshman Yasmim Tomita took the women's 100 backstroke in 56.37 seconds.
 
Also in women's 1-meter diving, sophomore Riley Hunt took top honors with 426.35 points – giving her two nationals cuts to qualify for the 2025 NCAA Division II Championships, March 11-15 in Indianapolis, Ind..
 
SECOND PLACE
- Women's 200 medley relay of freshman Yasmim Tomita, senior Colleen Cox, and sophomores Payton Meyer and Payton O'Toole in 1:48.19.
- Women's 800 freestyle relay of Tomita, junior Mary Kate Prall, sophomore Juliana Pignato and O'Toole in 7:57.02.
- Junior Maddi Whitticar in women's 1-meter diving (383.45 points).
- Junior Joey Lenczyk in men's 3-meter diving (447.70).
- O'Toole in the women's 200 free in 1:56.11.
 
THIRD PLACE
- Men's 800 free relay team of junior Nick Olquin, senior Robin Falk, Pham and Kemp in 7:04.46.
- Freshman Brooke Patel in the women's 400 individual medley in 4:45.38.
- Kemp in the men's 100 butterfly in 51.03 seconds.
- Pham in the men's 100 back in 52.44 seconds.
 
FOURTH PLACE
- Pignato in the women's 100 fly in 59.82 seconds.
- Tomita in the women's 200 free in 1:56.67.
- Falk in the men's 200 free in 1:45.15.
 
FIFTH PLACE
- Women's 200 medley relay of Prall, sophomore Blair Pichola, Pignato and freshman Raechel Serafimov in 1:53.34.
- Men's 200 medley relay of freshman William Collins, junior Jack Elliott, freshman Daniel Correa Hammer and junior Cole Huebner in 1:35.59.
- Freshman Ella Howard in women's 1-meter diving (305.40 points)
- Freshman Tanner Collins in men's 3-meter diving (316.25 points).
- Olquin in the men's 400 IM (4:20.68).
- Cox in the women's 100 breaststroke (1:09.20).
 
SIXTH PLACE
- Women's 800 free relay of freshmen Julia Reed and Stephanie Holubetz, Meyer, and freshman Jaidyn Jordan in 8:28.77.
- Prall in the women's 100 back (1:01.22).
 
SEVENTH PLACE
- Oates in the men's 100 breaststroke (59.39 seconds).
- Meyer in the women's 100 fly (1:01.67).
- Fifth-year Josh Hagan in the men's 400 IM (4:24.11).
 
EIGHTH PLACE
- Sophomore Delaney Spradlin in the women's 100 back (1:03.48).
- Men's 800 free relay of junior Jason Basile, sophomore Grant Brown, Hagan and William Collins in 7:24.15.
- Sophomore Rachel Stanchek in the women's 400 IM (5:03.29).
 
Through Day 2, the AU women are in second place with 964 points (Wooster leads with 1,011.5), and the Eagle men are third with 972 points (Rose-Hulman first with 1,096.5).
