Ashland University's men's and women's swimming and diving teams opened action at the Wooster Invitational on Thursday (Dec. 5), and both Eagle teams are in third place in the team standings.
The Eagle men's 200-yard freestyle relay quartet earned a win on Thursday night, as sophomore
Colin Pham and juniors
Andrew Oates,
Cole Huebner and
Nick Girz finished in 1:24.54.
Each of AU's teams picked up a runner-up showing in the 400 medley relay. The men's team of Pham, Girz, sophomore
Evan Kemp and Huebner was second in 3:27.23, and the women's team of freshman
Yasmim Tomita, senior
Colleen Cox, and sophomores
Juliana Pignato and
Payton O'Toole took second in 3:59.21.
Ashland's women are third out of nine teams with 416.5 points (Edinboro first with 456.5), and the Eagle men are third of eight teams with 424 points (Rose-Hulman first with 452).
