Eagle Men, Women Earn First Wins Of 2024-25 At Grove City College

Ashland University's men's and women's swimming and diving teams took their first victories of 2024-25 on Saturday (Oct. 26) afternoon at Grove City College.
 
The Eagle men earned a 169-125 win, and the AU women won, 180-118.
 
Earning multiple individual victories on Saturday were sophomore Payton O'Toole in the women's 1,650-yard freestyle (18:50.56), 50 free (25.56 seconds) and women's 200 individual medley (2:16.74), sophomore Juliana Pignato in the women's 200 free (2:00.39), 100 free (55.55 seconds) and 200 butterfly (2:15.83), junior Joey Lenczyk in men's 1-meter (204.30 points) and 3-meter diving (235.20 points), sophomore Colin Pham in the men's 100 backstroke (52.80 seconds) and 200 back (1:59.02), sophomore Evan Kemp in the men's 200 free (1:47.83) and 200 IM (2:00.20), and freshman Yasmim Tomita in the women's 100 back (57.89 seconds) and 200 back (2:06.28).
 
Single individual wins were picked up by junior Andrew Oates in the men's 50 free (22.09 seconds), junior Maddi Whitticar in women's 3-meter diving (202.35 points), and senior Robin Falk in the men's 500 free (4:59.18).
 
Relay titles on the day were earned by the women's 200 medley relay of Tomita, senior Colleen Cox, Pignato and sophomore Blair Pichola (1:52.28), the men's 200 medley relay of Pham, junior Nick Girz, Falk and junior Cole Huebner (1:35.55), and the women's 200 free relay quartet of freshman Raechel Serafimov, O'Toole, Pichola and Cox (1:43.24).
 
Second-place finishes were turned in by:
  • Sophomore Riley Hunt in women's 3-meter (197.30 points) and 1-meter (217.85 points) diving.
  • Freshman Tanner Collins in men's 1-meter (152.60 points) and 3-meter (132.65 points) diving.
  • Girz in the men's 100 breaststroke (58.33 seconds) and 100 free (46.88 seconds).
  • Sophomore Grant Brown in the men's 500 free (5:01.92).
  • Huebner in the men's 50 free (22.12 seconds).
  • Sophomore Payton Meyer in the women's 200 fly (2:22.43).
  • Fifth-year Josh Hagan in the men's 200 fly (1:59.39).
  • Cox in the women's 50 free (25.81 seconds).
  • Freshman Brooke Patel in the women's 200 breaststroke (2:36.36).
  • Junior Jack Elliott in the men's 200 breaststroke (2:14.54).
  • Freshman Julia Reed in the women's 500 free (5:38.44).
  • Freshman Stephanie Holubetz in the women's 1,650 free (19:34.90).
  • Junior Jason Basile in the men's 1,650 free (17:32.41).
  • Freshman Jaidyn Jordan in the women's 200 free (2:05.12).
  • Pham in the men's 100 fly (52.99 seconds).
  • Tomita in the women's 200 IM (2:17.36).
  • Falk in the men's 200 free (1:48.10).
  • The men's 200 free relay of Elliott, Oates, Huebner and Girz (1:26.80).
