No. 20 Eagle Wrestlers Finish Competition At National Duals

The 2024 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) National Duals came to an end on Saturday (Jan. 6) in Cedar Falls, Iowa, as the No. 20-ranked Ashland University wrestlers finished action at 0-2 on Saturday and 0-4 on the weekend.
 
In a 27-16 loss to No. 8-ranked Indianapolis, Eagle victories were gained by senior 133-pounder Tyler Masters (14-2 major decision), sophomore 165-pounder Sevriano Garza (4-2 decision), sophomore 174-pounder Nate Barrett (4-1 decision), redshirt freshman 184-pounder Peyton Lemon (11-4 decision) and sophomore 285-pounder Wyatt Bailey (2-1 decision).
 
Barrett finished a 4-0 weekend to move to 14-4 this season thanks to a 10-7 win during the Eagles' 27-15 loss to No. RV Newberry. Ashland's other wins came from Masters (10-2 major decision), sophomore 157-pounder Evan Davis (10-9 decision), and Garza (19-3 technical fall).
 
Ashland is 1-7 in duals in 2023-24.
