It is less than three months from the start of the 2023 season, but Ashland University's football team already has been placed in a national preseason poll.
The 2023 Lindy's National College Football Magazine has been released, and in a two-page NCAA Division II preview, the Eagles are slotted at No. 10 in the publication's preseason poll.
Ashland's 2023 season will begin on Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. at Indiana, Pa. – the same place the Eagles' 2022 campaign ended in the second round of the NCAA Division II playoffs. The Crimson Hawks are ranked No. 11 in the Lindy's preseason poll.
The Eagles' 2023 home opener will be Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. vs. two-time defending D-II national champion Ferris State – the No. 1-ranked team in the Lindy's poll.
Ashland will enter the new season under the guidance of first-year head coach
Doug Geiser. The Eagles return 11 All-Great Midwest Athletic Conference players, and have six returning starters on both offense and defense.
