Ashland University sophomore
Cam Scott earned an interesting distinction on Monday (May 1) afternoon, following his being named the latest Great Midwest Athletic Conference North Division Pitcher of the Week.
This is Scott's second Great Midwest weekly honor, having been named the North's Player of the Week on Feb. 27 for his work at the plate as a third baseman.
In two starts last week against Northwood and at Lake Erie, Scott went 2-0 with no earned runs allowed in 13 innings. In those two starts, he allowed just seven hits and five walks and struck out seven.
Scott has been a key contributor to the Eagles' 32-14 overall record and 21-7 mark in the league so far in 2023 – he is 6-3 with a 2.96 earned-run average and 46 strikeouts in 48 2/3 innings on the mound, and is hitting .321 with three doubles, two triples, two home runs, 21 RBIs and seven stolen bases as a third baseman.
Ashland will conclude the regular season with four games against Hillsdale (22-23, 17-11) at Tomassi Stadium and Donges Field at the Archer Ballpark Complex on Friday and Saturday (May 5-6).
