On Friday (Feb. 24) in a home match in nearby Wooster, Ohio, Ashland University's women's tennis team lost a 6-1 decision to Slippery Rock.

The Eagles are 4-3, and the Rock is 2-2.
"I am very happy with the effort level of everyone today," said Ashland Director of Tennis Operations
Tim Dunford. "Last season, they beat us 7-0. This season, we had opportunities to come away with the doubles point, and was competitive in several of the singles matches.
"This team is going to be a very tough out for anybody that we play."

NOTABLES
- Sophomore Kortney Reed earned Ashland's point at No. 5 singles, taking a 1-6, 7-5 (10-8) decision from Teddi Isherwood.
- The Eagles took one of the doubles matches, with the No. 1 pair of freshmen Ana Penteado and Constanza Arancibia topping Adriana Gonzalez Sanchez and Isherwood, 6-1.
