It was a successful Senior Night for the No. 21-ranked Ashland University wrestling team on Friday (Feb. 10) night at Kates Gymnasium, as the Eagles defeated Notre Dame College, 31-14.

Ashland is 8-9 in duals this season heading into the regular-season finale, while the Falcons are 4-10. This is the second consecutive win for the Eagles over NDC.

WHAT HAPPENED
- Forfeits at 125 and 133 pounds put Ashland ahead 12-0, then three NDC wins cut that Eagle advantage to a single point at 12-11.
- After that, Ashland recorded four consecutive individual victories to clinch the team win. Another forfeit was followed by a 9-1 major decision from redshirt freshman Nate Barrett at 174 pounds, a pin by one of the two seniors honored prior to the start, No. 5-ranked 184-pounder Daniel Beemer, and a 7-1 decision from sophomore Walker Uhl at 197 pounds.
- "One of the biggest things on my mind this season has been not only to win, but dominate at the same time," said Beemer, who, along with 285-pounder Ty Petrey, were recognized in Senior Night announcements. "I just want to keep that energy and momentum rolling into the postseason."
