Eagle Women’s Basketball Goes Into Break At No. 2 In WBCA Poll

As announced by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) on Tuesday (Dec. 19) afternoon, Ashland University's women's basketball team is No. 2 in the latest NCAA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll.
 
The Eagles are 9-1 overall and 3-0 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference going into the Christmas break. Ashland's next game is Dec. 30 at 1 p.m. at Davenport.
 
Ashland received three of the 23 first-place votes in the latest WBCA poll.
 
Since the beginning of 1995-96, the Eagles have been:
  • In the Top 25 of the coaches poll 161 times.
  • In the Top 10 of the coaches poll 140 times.
  • In the Top 5 of the coaches poll 113 times.
Ashland is 305-19 (.941) all-time as a ranked team in NCAA Division II.

Through Monday (Dec. 18), the Eagles are the No. 1 team in D-II in field-goal percentage at 50.9, tied for fourth in scoring margin per game (plus-23.7), seventh in scoring offense (82.0 ppg.), tied for eighth in rebound margin per game (plus-11.4), and tied for 10th in 3-point field goals per game (8.5).
 
Also through Monday, junior forward Zoe Miller is second in the nation in field-goal percentage at 65.0.
